Sip, Stretch, and Release Yoga

Sip, Stretch, and Release Yoga

Carly teaches a Sip, Stretch, and Release yoga class every week at Homebody Yoga House. Previously, this class was done in the Royal Ballroom in downtown Baker City, but it has since moved to our beautiful new studio space (also in downtown). Students are encouraged to bring a yoga mat and beverage of their choice for this unique class option on Monday evenings from 6-7 pm. Sip, Stretch, and Release is beginner friendly and combines seated, standing, and lying down poses. There is a heavy emphasis on myofascial release, which involves using different props like blocks and tennis balls, to target specific trigger points in the body. The goal of myofascial release is to unglue and soften areas of tension in the body’s connective tissue, known as fascia.

Photo of the book Good Enough. Good Enough is a memoir by Carly Newberg about her triumph and victory battling an eating disorder.

Carly published her memoir, Good Enough: Believing Beautiful through Trauma, through Life, through Disorder, when she was 24 years old. Good Enough is a vulnerable read that follows the triumph and victory of an eating disorder Carly battled for nearly six years. In it, she shares stories of her childhood trauma while pointing to her Christian faith as the key to breaking past many barriers. Although Carly no longer considers herself a Christian, she does value the strength she gained from religion, church, and church community in her younger years. Good Enough follows Carly’s ruthless pursuit toward greater self-acceptance and is available in eBook, paperback, hardback, and audiobook format. Still Growing is a poetic companion for anyone learning to let go, root down, and bloom in their own time. This collection was born from the seasons of becoming—the quiet, aching ones and the wild, blooming ones, too. Life asks us to evolve again and again, to sow seeds, wait through the unknown, and eventually harvest the truths we’ve nurtured within. But some things, no matter how much love and intention we give them, simply will not grow, and maybe that’s because they were never meant to. Between planting and blooming, there is doubt, loneliness, and the ache of not knowing. We wonder, Am I doing this right? Are all my efforts wasted? But then, something shifts. The hard work reveals its purpose. We find our strength. We return to ourselves. We begin to feel at home. Still Growing is a reflection of that process; the mess, the magic, and the quiet resilience it takes to keep going. Perfect for readers who: Are moving through grief, healing, or major life transitions Are struggling with anxiety or depression Crave earthy, body-rooted, and garden-inspired metaphors Want a book to rest beside their bed, yoga mat, or cup of morning coffee Let these pages remind you: even in uncertainty, you are not alone. You are still growing.
